All Star Code wants to help more students learn coding skills and develop their entrepreneurial mindset. How can we show the potential of the next 10 years for Quincy?

Behind the scenes: Generative AI video production.

Step 1 — Quincy’s story

We collaborated with Quincy. He imagined his next 10 years in tech. This was recorded and his voice-over was turned it into a script. The audio quality was improved with Adobe’s Enhance Speech AI tool.

Step 2 — Prompt Engineering

We broke the script down into smaller chunks, and wrote text-to-image prompts that would represent each sentence. We used a fine-tuned style code to keep a consistent look and feel across all the images.

Step 3 — Generative AI Images

We ran those text prompts though the generative AI tool called MidJourney. Photoshop Generative Fill added compositional details. Magnific upscaled and improved the quality of the images.

Step 4 — Generative AI Video

We used an AI tool called Runway Gen-2 to turn the generated images into videos. We touched up the clips with special effects in Adobe After Effects.

Step 5 — Video Production

It was all edited together with Quincy’s voice-over, motion graphics, music, SFX, and extra shots to create a share-able video.

All Star Code is a school that teaches coding skills to black and brown men. Having just celebrated reaching 10 years operations, they wanted to look to the future. As they rely on support from donors — why not showcase what future your support could enable? Without the ability to hire big production studios or A-list directors, how could they create an ad? Thanks to generative AI, we embarked on an iterative process to tell a human story in an ultra-modern way.
